Established in 2007 in Rishikesh, the Akhanda Anand Prakash Retreats has served for nearly 20 years as a sanctuary for traditional Yogic practice within a contemporary, accessible setting.
Overlooking the Himalayan foothills and located within walking distance of the Gaṅgā River, this Retreat serves as both a centre of daily spiritual discipline and an international gathering place for sincere aspirants from all backgrounds.
Here, in the sacred neighborhood of Tapovan, seekers return to a rhythm of self-inquiry, collective ritual, and Yogic integration — all under the guidance of Himalayan Master Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu.
Anand Prakash occupies the space between tradition and modernity. It welcomes a diverse range of guests — from first-time aspirants to experienced Yoga teachers — and invites each to live the teachings with humility, structure, and joy.
While located in the energetic hub of Rishikesh, the Retreat maintains an atmosphere of sattva (clarity), discipline, and reverence, making it ideal for both personal rest and deep inner work.
Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu is a Himalayan master of Yoga and founder of the Akhanda Yoga Institute. With over 40 years of committed sādhana and a PhD in Yoga Philosophy, he has taught tens of thousands of students worldwide — integrating the wisdom of the scriptures with practical, embodied living.
As a spiritual diplomat and humanitarian, his work extends beyond the classroom, into education, empowerment, and ecological stewardship. Anand Prakash Ashram is one of his primary gifts to the global Yoga community — a physical space where his vision of holistic Yogic living is brought to life.
Rishikesh has been known as the birthplace of Yoga, not only for its contemporary reputation, but for its enduring presence in India’s spiritual memory:
Mentioned in the Yogic Texts, the region has been described as a powerful energy center — a place where great sages performed deep austerities.
Numerous caves, ancient temples, and spiritual lineages trace their origins to this land, where the Gaṅgā flows, symbolizing purification.
Rishikesh has long served as a crossroads of seekers, a place to prepare before pilgrimage into deeper Himalayan silence.
In this historical and energetic context, Anand Prakash Yoga Retreat is holding the sanctity of lineage while remaining open, structured, and grounded for international engagement.
